This one comes to us from Newbery Medal winner Kwame Alexander, paired with the wonderful illustrations of celebrated artist Daniel Miyares. Together they’ve made something special. A joy-filled ride on the magical waves where storytelling and imagination meet.

It’s a picture book that does a rare and lovely thing. It celebrates the pull of the ocean and the pull of a great book, all in one salty, sun-soaked package. Perfect for little ones ages 3 to 7 who love frogs, waves, and stories that make you want to turn the page.

We think it’s a treasure for read-aloud afternoons, especially the rainy ones when the beach will have to wait. And with the sea just steps from our door, we may be a little biased. But we can’t help it.
